Hi!

I have a problem with E1750. I am currently on Vista Home Premium and Norton 360 version2.

Everytime I use bittorrent, I have this intermittent problem of no data traffic even when the modem status in the dashboard shows I am connected. ie totally no internet access (including no torrent data download or upload) even when the status shows connected. I have to manually disconnect and connect again to get the internet access back.


I only have this problem when I use torrent to download stuff.

I have called internet provider hotline and they also can't solve this problem. They ask me to check directly with Huawei. Does Huawei have a new firmware release for E1750?

When I use the older version of the moden like E170, no such problem. Unfortunately I do not have E170 anymore. I have done many troubleshooting. The environment doesn't change except the modem stick, ie same laptop, same location, same software. This leads me to conclude it is a problem with E1750. Is there some idle timeout feature or torrent lockout feature in this modem?

I have a Huawei Stick, e1750 which only accepts the Safaricom Network, (am in Kenya). How can I unlock it accept other networks?
Does updating the firmware help?

There's no firmware update for E1750 on the official web (huaweidevice.com). Where does this firmware come from?
